In January 2004, three ISU EE graduates and one other ISU alumna formed Open Engineering, LLC to focus on designing a wide variety of electronic and RF equipment, and applications using open source software. Currently, Open Engineering is focusing its efforts on developing applications based on a embedded ARM processor based computer systems running the Linux OS. As Chief Technology Officer, my primary responsibilities are developing end-user software, web applications, and interfaces for our products. I also investigate new ideas and products for Open Engineering and its customers.
Recently Open Engineering was contacted to complete a site and equipment survey for a cellular repeater for a client. On this project, I acted as project leader. As part of my responsibilities I investigated and designed a cellular repeater system, wrote project documentation, and presented our final design and cost breakdown to our client.
The OE website includes more information about our current projects as well contact information at www.opengineering.com
